Clients of LHB Communications have seen their visibility and revenue soar as a result of our public relations, marketing communications, and outreach. Here are just a few examples.

NOMA

The NoMa (North of Massachusetts Avenue) Business Improvement District (BID) was created in 2007 as a public-private partnership to advance this former industrial warehouse district just north of the U.S. Capitol. While it had a Metrorail station and a new Federal agency headquarters, NoMa was considered “nowhere” by most people. The nascent BID hired LHB to create and implement a public relations program. During the BID’s first two years of operation, LHB obtained over 200 of media placements including a New York Times feature and extensive coverage by local TV, radio, newspapers, magazines, social media, and blogs. These outstanding results helped transform NoMa into one of city’s hottest neighborhoods and one of the continent’s top destinations for institutional investment.

GROSVENOR

With a 300-year history in the UK and a half-century in Canada, this international real estate development and investment group was seeking to expand its North American footprint. Supporting Grosvenor Americas’ corporate communications office, LHB Communications facilitated publication of more than 1,000 articles featuring the company’s projects and activities. A separate program for Grosvenor Fund Management achieved over $1 million in advertising equivalency, including coverage by such prestigious media as The Wall Street Journal, Business Week, Bloomberg, The Financial Times, the Globe & Mail, and many more.

BOSTON PROPERTIES

LHB Communications supported Boston Properties and Terrabrook on Phase II of the iconic multiple award-winning Reston (VA) Town Center, centerpiece of one of the most successful planned communities in American history. Based on the outstanding results of that work, Boston Properties selected LHB to publicize its entire Washington/Baltimore portfolio, including the leasing of 901 New York Avenue in downtown Washington, Discovery Square in Reston, and more.

URBAN PACE

LHB publicized several dozen boutique condominium developments that were marketed by Urban Pace, a forward-thinking residential real estate sales and marketing firm. These developments sold quickly, some at record prices for their neighborhoods. Several involved adaptive re-use of historic buildings, such as a former school for the blind in Georgetown that is now The Montrose condominium residence. Sanctuary, a unique redevelopment of a 19th century Gothic Revival church on Capitol Hill, was the subject of a full-length feature in Washingtonian magazine. LHB’s work supported Urban Pace’s profitable 2016 acquisition by Long & Foster.

LUBERT-ADLER

LHB has helped build awareness of Lubert-Adler, a Philadelphia-based real estate fund management group that has invested in assets valued at $16 billion. One highlight was publicizing Aramark’s long-awaited decision to locate its new headquarters in Philadelphia, occupying five new floors built atop an existing four-story building on the Schuylkill River. Lubert-Adler had acquired and redeveloped 2400 Market Street, built in the 1920s as an auto assembly plant and used most late as a design center. This announcement, headlined by the Governor of Pennsylvania -achieved widespread news media coverage.

WASHINGTON REIT

LHB supported the investor-focused outreach of Washington REIT by communicating with local news media. A major focus was the innovative, award-winning redevelopment of Silverline Center in Tysons, with its ever-changing façade of colorful LED lights. Local news media have eagerly followed the building’s holiday-related lighting displays, as well as news about restaurant leases such as TenPenh. LHB also advised the REIT’s top management on sensitive matters potentially involving the news media.

URBAN INVESTMENT PARTNERS

LHB has provided public relations services for prolific Washington, DC developer and real estate investment firm Urban Investment Partners for over a decade. During this time, UIP amassed a portfolio of more than 3,000 apartments and has renovated, restored, and built more than 30 downtown multifamily buildings. Highlights have included the transformation of dilapidated and even condemned historic residences in the city, some designed by famed architect Harry Wardman, in compliance with TOPA (Tenant Opportunity to Purchase Act). More recently, LHB has publicized UIP’s large apartment redevelopments in the District.

BUCHANAN PARTNERS

A longtime commercial real estate developer with solid institutional equity partners, Buchanan Partners had always kept a low profile, but realized that they were missing out on important business opportunities because people didn’t know they were active in the market. LHB Communications launched a highly successful multi-pronged marketing communications program that attained widespread news media coverage and positioned Buchanan as a sought-after source for reporters.
