Dylan Condominium Sales Gallery Opens in Alexandria’s Potomac Yard
Just minutes from Amazon’s new HQ2 and Virginia Tech’s billion-dollar Innovation Campus in Potomac Yard, The FORTIS Companies of Washington, DC is building Dylan, a 138-unit luxury condominium community. An expansive new sales gallery has opened nearby, allowing prospective buyers to learn about the project and walk through a fully built-out and furnished model home.
The sales gallery displays the community’s unique features and finishes. An interactive scale model allows potential buyers to visualize the community’s location and views, while an interactive touch screen provides 360-degree virtual tours of individual condominium plans.
Nearly a third of Phase I residences sold during the Dylan sales gallery’s preview opening in June. Most early buyers currently live in Alexandria or Arlington, VA. However, condominium seekers from New York to Seattle have expressed interest. The development is scheduled to deliver next year.
The Mayhood Company, sales agent for Dylan, is offering individual in-person and virtual tours at the sales gallery. Unit plans include one-, two- and three-bedroom options, many with outdoor balconies and spacious dens; all plans include oversized master bedroom closets. Residences are priced from the $600,000’s to about $1.2 million.
“As we anticipated, the excitement around Amazon’s HQ2 and Virginia Tech is generating strong interest in Dylan,” said Matt Bunch, FORTIS vice president. “Dylan’s convenient, walkable location is a big draw. It is just a five-minute walk to the new Potomac Yard Metro Station opening early next year, which will connect residents to Regan National Airport just one stop away. Residents also will have walkable access to a variety of new shops, restaurants, employment centers, and recreational options within Potomac Yard and on Virginia Tech’s Innovation Campus.”
Added Jennifer Harlow, sales manager: “Potomac Yard’s urban-suburban setting offers an abundance of large parks, outdoor amenities, and open spaces. Dylan’s location directly adjacent to the 23-acre Potomac Yard Park has been a really great selling point for the neighborhood, appealing to buyers of all ages.”
“For this project, we purposely designed comfortable living spaces with extra breathing room, such as private outdoor balconies, oversized master bedroom closets, ample room for entertaining, and powder rooms in most of the floorplans,” Bunch continued. “We recognize that many residents will appreciate the option of working from home, so we ensured that 80 percent of Dylan’s plans include generously sized dens or home offices. Dylan also will feature an onsite business center for those residents who want to meet clients, take calls privately, or just get some work done outside of their homes.”
Dylan’s architecture and aesthetic design by Lessard Design and Akseizer Design Group emphasize style and sophistication with fresh and timeless interiors, hardwood flooring, and natural finishes. Gourmet kitchens feature waterfall islands, Calacatta quartz countertops and full-height backsplashes, premium custom Italian cabinetry, and wine storage. Wood-panelized appliances are by Bosch and Fisher & Paykel. Spa-inspired baths feature Calacatta quartz countertops, custom Italian vanities and linen closets, and Waterworks fixtures.
Dylan’s residents will enjoy rooftop entertaining and views of the Potomac River from two outdoor terraces and adjacent social rooms. The elegant entrance lobbies will provide attentive front desk service, a full-time building manager, and a secure package room with Amazon Hub lockers. Other amenities will include a fitness center with natural lighting and a separate yoga space, a pet washing station, bike storage, and a unique “maker space” for handicrafts and hobby work. All Dylan homes will include reserved garage parking; optional electric vehicle charging is available.
